Notice under the Specified Commercial Transactions Act

Japan's Act on Specified Commercial Transactions (known in Japanese as the Tokutei Shotorihiki Ho, or tokushoho) asks anyone who offers services to the public online to state a short list of facts in a fixed place. This is that place for Pecan Riverbend. Our services are sold only by email or phone agreement, and the website itself takes no orders and no payments.

What we sell, and for how much

Costs beyond the price
- Saplings, stakes, tree guards and mulch for a planting session are not in the ¥11,000. They are quoted separately, in writing, before you confirm.
- Travel within 40 km of our Toyama office is included. For plots further away the travel amount is written in the quote.
- Bank transfer fees are paid by the customer.
- Permit fees charged by a river manager or other public body, if any, are the landowner's and are not collected by us.
How and when you pay
We send an invoice after the service has been carried out. Payment is by bank transfer to the account on the invoice, within fourteen days of its date. We do not accept payment through the website, and we do not ask for card details.
When the service is provided
Consultations are held on a date agreed by email, usually within a few weeks of your first message. Planting sessions are arranged around frost, soil and the state of the river bank, and are often best from early spring or in the dormant months. A layout plan is delivered within three weeks of the site visit.
Moving or cancelling
You may move or cancel free of charge up to three days before the agreed date. After that we may charge for materials already bought for you, never more than the quoted fee. A date moved because of weather or a flooded bank is not a cancellation. Full wording: Terms and Conditions.
If something is wrong with the work
These are advisory and supervised services, not goods. If a written document contains a mistake, we correct it at no charge. If you think a session was not carried out as described, write to us within fourteen days. Trees are living things and we do not promise survival, a crop, or a year of first harvest.
Complaints and questions about an order
Write to info@pecan-riverbend.com with the date of your booking and a few lines about what went wrong, or call +81 76-453-5307 on a weekday. We reply by email within a few working days and, if it helps, offer a second visit or a corrected document before anything else is discussed.
Right to withdraw
The Act's cooling-off rule does not apply to services you request from us by email or phone. We do, however, let you move or cancel without charge up to three days before the agreed date, as set out above, and you may stop using the services at any time.
Personal data
Details you send us are used to answer you, to carry out the booking and to keep accounts. The full description is in the Privacy Policy.
Special conditions
- Work near a river may need permission from the river manager. The landowner applies for it, and the date of a planting session may depend on the answer.
- A session may be moved for frost, flood water or heavy rain without cost to you.
- Plans, shortlists and notes are for the plot and the person named in the booking, and may be shown to any nursery or contractor you choose.
